BBH came up with the idea to encourage kids to do more outdoor activity,with the aid of a special kit that includes a skipping rope and a hacky sack that records your result. We got involved with unit9 to create an on-line place where the kids can show and compare their results with other participants.

A very special leader board with all the participants stacking up one on top of each other to reach the stratosphere, where the coveted crown is found. Kids can create their own avatar and customize it, unlocking new exciting outfits and accessories. We also designed the interface to hold the whole experience together and a set of webcam games, for those rainy days when you just can’t go outside onto the playground.

Webcam games are notoriously hard to make good games for, the range of webcams/settings are vast, but with some amazing code from unit9 and game design that took advantage of the limitations we’ve created 3 addictive games that are a lot of fun.

Game Design
We set out to design fun & engaging games that would play well on webcam and keyboard, and at the same time keep it light,quick and lush. Our first priority was to make sure that the games where fun and respected the Green Lantern brand,  walking a fine line between game play that was challenging for the more seasoned players but not to hard for the novices.

Our favorite by far is the Agility game (inhouse working name “Power Pong”), lovely animations and great visuals combined with a good feeling makes that one a winner we think! That’s not to say the other games aren’t great, it’s just something special with yellow balls of doom flying thru space!

What we enjoy the most about this site is how direct it is, there’s a bit of an intro to tell the story but the games are easy to access and easy to enjoy. No layers of fluff, just pure fun.

We set out to create an addictive facebook game that tied in with the newly launched Kellogs Krave cereal. The experience needed to be competitive and at the same time it needed to be a game you could pick up in a minute and just play for a bit.

Going back to our childhood we wanted to make a platformer, however they don’t lend themselves very well to the competitive / never-ending gameplay we wanted to achive. So we settled for a classic running game in the same vein as  Canabalt,Robot Unicorn & mixing it with some mini-games goodness.

Outfits & Powers
To add more depth to the experience we added Krave Outfits, by playing the mini games that are woven into the main game you can unlock stars, these can be used to buy neat outfits. When you get an entire outfit set there’s an special outfit power unlocked, the Ninja can double jump, the magician can freeze the chocolate for a short period of time.

On top of these outfits you can also collect temporary powerups, and there’s a lot of them, if you’re lucky enough you might be able to find the ellusive bouncy shoe powerup!

Krave Krusader is a game that might look very basic at first look,  but if you scratch the surface you will realize there’s 5 games, 24 unique looks for your Krave, 8 outfit powers…
