Häagen Dazs loves Honey Bees

The sweetest way to save the Honey Bees

Honey Bees are disappearing rapidly and no one knows why, so Häagen-Dazs® ice cream is raising awareness on the plight of our stripy pollinating friends. To do this, Goodby, Silverstein & Partners teamed up with Unit9/Helpful Strangers and created a microsite that’s all about making people aware and having fun doing so.

Save the Honey Bees

Made from scratch

To make sure the Honey Bees’ landscape was unique we decided early on to make everything from scratch, creating a realistic look but with a slight edge making it more artistic. The process took a lot of time since painting grass is not a task for the fainthearted but in the end it payed off.

To give the bee’s the right feel we wanted to take a more adult approach to them, staying away from cartoon eyes and treating them the same way as the rest of the artwork. By giving them typical bee eyes and merging that with a more human body form we were able to make people relate to them but at the same time not lose the “essence of bee”.
